Responding to current financial events (sorry to mention it again) we find ourselves presented, ironically, with garments inspired by the era so commonly associated with greed and opulence – the 1980s. The current consumer mood in this time of recession is that of a “less is more” attitude. There is a distinct love affair with that which is second-hand and an eco-awareness born out of a weariness of modern disposables.

For these reasons, I urge you to take a look at those independent retailers on the back streets. Rifle around in bargain bins at charity shops and go vintage for the real deal! This season we are keen on the statement shapes and colours, spiky heels, animal prints, faux fur, full skirts, patent leather, Gothic black lace and lots of big jewellery. This is the 80s with a modern twist and seems to scream: “we will overcome!”

To celebrate, we went off to Unit 5 studios to show you just what Prim and Boho Vintage of Norwich have to offer this winter. This is investment dressing at its best – we know these things are gonna last!
