I must say I was very impressed with this film. It had everything and linked up to the previous films extremely well. The resistance is preparing to end the war, but at the cost of thousands of lives. Skynet is building a new terminator and they are only getting smarter. This is the toughest battle yet that John Connor has come up against, where is the line drawn between machine and human? Will humanity save the day? – of course it will. The date is 2018 and John Connor is not at the top of the machine’s hit list, it’s teenager Kyle Reece (John Connor’s father). Kyle Reece is welcomed into the storyline, as his life is vital to the resistance and the machines know it. Without Kyle Reece there is no John Connor.

This film has everything; great plots and twists, a great cast and spectacular fighting special effects. Christian Bale is on top form as the prophesised leader of the resistance, but the formidable General Barnes (Michael Ironside) questions his commands, making cruel decisions to end the war no matter who is left in the cross fire between man and machine. Rising Australian star Sam Worthington gives an amazing performance as Marcus Wright, a murderer trying to find his humanity. And for all you girls out there reading this, yes this man is one of the characters you will fall in love with alongside the renowned Christian Bale. As both Marcus and John fight Skynet and their army of the terminators they get more than they bargain for, seeing the true natures of what Skynet has in store. This film kept me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning with great performances from Christian Bale, Helena Bonham Carter, Sam Worthington and Bryce Dallas Howard. To keep all you die hard Terminator fans happy there is even a guest appearance from none other than Arnie, illustrating he will always be back! The battle is won but the war still has not been fought. Words > Kate Southgate |
