Love is a one of a kind wedding, prom and evening boutique situated in the heart of Norwich. The name simply represents the true meaning of why you get married. You get married because you are in love, and once you enter the boutique, you instantly fall in love with the dresses surrounding you.

As soon as I entered the door to Love the owner and designer, Kathy, greeted me. This designer, who has had 20 years work experience in the industry of wedding design before opening her store, has a massive collection of dresses that every girl would die for. Whatever the occasion may be, Kathy has it all; the prom dresses, evening gowns, bespoke bridal wear, off the peg bridesmaid and flower girl frocks, plus all the accessories to go with them. Everything a girl needs all under one roof (and if you are getting married Kathy can even make a matching outfit for the groom)!

The talented and very friendly owner graduated from London College of Fashion, before committing two years to a wedding company. But the relationship grew tiresome, as she wasn’t getting out as much as she was putting in, and so decided to go freelance. Working in a studio on her parent’s farm, Kathy took in orders from her clients and made all the outfits from scratch. Working for herself brought on the idea of her own store and, as soon as she had bought the space she wanted, it only took an astonishing 7 weeks to set up! Ten years later Kathy isn’t looking back, she has made a name for herself in Norfolk and she isn’t showing any signs of going anywhere else.

When I came in for the interview I had caught her at one of her busiest times, however now is the time when people seeking work experience come to help, and the place is a buzz of activity. The books are full with plenty of alterations to do and many deadlines to stick to. The phone is going off the hook… the recession hasn’t got anything on her! Business is booming and so it should, the range of clothing and brands for just one boutique is wonderful, and you are sure to find something that tickles your fancy or gives you inspiration for your own design. Kathy is more than happy to make your creations come to life.

Love is a truly inspirational place to be and you can immerse yourself in beautiful materials and be amazed by the attention to detail in every piece. Kathy has come so far and there is no stopping her and Love, especially as she is now picking out designs that you have seen on the catwalk - to mention a few celebs (because we can): Girls Aloud, Hollyoaks cast and many more!
