Leeigh Hair is a hidden treasure. Unlike any hairdressers or salons I have come across, Leeigh Hair is situated inside a gym - Gym and Trim in Cardinal Park. Inside you have the energy coming from the gym, but as soon as you enter the door of the salon you’re welcomed into a warm and friendly environment.

The girls, Tanya and Simone, started up the business a year on July 1st 2008 through one simple phone call to each other. Simone was approached and offered space in the gym and thought why not. The girls have an impressive 12 years experience in the industry. One simple phone call turned their lives around from working for the boss to working for themselves, and they have even brought in Holly, who equally shares their passion for hairdressing. The name of the salon came from both Simone and Tanya’s names, Leigh being Simone’s surname and Lee Tanya’s middle name, making Leeigh hair and giving the company that extra personal touch. The setting up of the business happened so quickly as well; everything was finished within a month or two max! But the girls have worked hard on getting the place to look how it does now. Getting rid of the green and grey colour scheme, in favour of a modern and stylish black and white, with a touch of their own personal and unique style.

Leeigh Hair specialise mainly in cut and colour, but what is so great about the place is their honesty. All three of them know each other’s strengths and weaknesses yet still provide an excellent working team, which is very hard to come by. The first year has been a blast for the girls keeping them busy and on their toes, dealing with wedding and prom customers, regular and loyal customers and attracting the new. All they want to do now is get bigger and better and why not?

The girls are wanting to get more into the fashion world, doing fashion shoots and fashion shows, (you can see their hair styles in next issue’s fashion photo shoot, so keep your eyes peeled). Previously the girls did a fashion show in December for charity in Liquid nightclub, so not only have these girls got the style and the business acumen, but they also do charity!

Leeigh hair is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 8pm Thursday to Friday and on Saturday they are open 9am to 6pm. The girls work around the clock showing their passion and motivation for this business and industry, working with top brands Tigi, Wella and KMS.
