Glamour Kills is one of the most exciting brands I think has come out of New York for a very long time. It is fresh and unique with a rock twist that can never be outdated. Founder and designer Mark Capicotto has been running this business for four years and there is no stopping him now. Maddog decided to have a little chat with the rock star of apparel to see how things have been going and what the future holds for maestro Mark Capicotto.
MD: One thing that really caught my attention was the name of the company, how did you come up with it, what is the story behind the name?
MC: “It was pretty much at random finding the name of the company, a friend and I were driving around and I started designing these shirts and had no name! So at random we just kind of came up with it and it stuck. Up until a few months ago I was the sole designer I did everything from our website to the shirts. Now that we have grown it’s become impossible for me to do this alone so I work with a team of designers that share my vision and help me create everything. It’s still 80% me by myself though.”
MD: I understand that you're a big lover of music, what are your music inspirations?
MC: I’m a big fan of music. I’m a big fan of Indie rock and a lot of old school punk; too many acts too list though. I’m inspired by life in general every day is something new and I draw inspiration from everywhere. I’m a big fan of music, especially Vans Warped Tour, but there is the slam dunk festival in Leeds I would love to attend next year!

MC: “We are coming out with a ton more we are doing button ups jackets shoes everything is all in the near future.
MD: How has the UK responded to your clothing line?
MC: It’s been great the UK has been very receptive and we get a ton of positive feedback thanks guys
MD: What has been your proudest moment so far?
MC: I’ve had so many it’s hard to pick but it would have to be seeing my clothes in stores and malls across the world. Hey you never know, world domination indeed that is the next step right?! haha
